Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Redbridge

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Redbridge is taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Man with Van Redbridge has a clear and enforceable zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, servitude, child labour, and any exploitation that undermines the freedom and dignity of individuals. We expect the same unwavering commitment from all parties with whom we do business, including suppliers, contractors, and agents.

Any suspected instance of modern slavery linked to our operations or supply chain is treated as a serious breach of our standards. Where concerns are substantiated, we will take immediate and proportionate action, which may include suspension or termination of contracts, and reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Redbridge provides transport and removals services to domestic and commercial customers. Our supply chain includes, but is not limited to, vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, uniform and packaging suppliers, and occasional use of subcontracted drivers or porters during peak periods.

We recognise that some of these areas, particularly subcontracted labour and outsourced services, may carry a higher risk of labour exploitation. We are therefore focused on understanding and managing these risks in a structured and proactive way.

Due Diligence and Supplier Audits

We are developing and implementing due diligence processes to assess and manage the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains. These processes include the following measures.

We require suppliers and subcontractors to confirm that they comply with all relevant labour laws and do not engage in modern slavery practices. We communicate our standards and make clear that compliance is a condition of doing business with us.

We conduct proportionate audits and checks on key suppliers and subcontractors, especially those providing labour-based services. These audits may review working conditions, right-to-work documentation, recruitment practices, and payment arrangements to identify any indicators of exploitation.

Where necessary, we will work collaboratively with suppliers to address identified risks, implement corrective actions, and monitor progress. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our expectations, we will consider alternative arrangements.

Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels

We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key suppliers. Managers responsible for procurement, recruitment, and subcontractor engagement receive guidance on recognising signs of exploitation and on the steps to take if they have concerns.

All workers engaged by Man with Van Redbridge are encouraged to report any concerns about modern slavery or unethical conduct. Concerns may relate to our own operations, our suppliers, or our customers. Reports can be made to a line manager or another senior member of the management team. We will treat all reports seriously and sensitively, respecting confidentiality as far as possible and protecting individuals who raise genuine concerns from victimisation or retaliation.

Risk Assessment and Continuous Improvement

We periodically review our operations and supply chains to identify areas where the risk of modern slavery may be higher and to prioritise our efforts accordingly. Factors considered may include geographic location, type of service, use of temporary or migrant labour, and the complexity of subcontracting arrangements.

We are committed to continuous improvement and will seek to strengthen our processes over time. This includes refining our supplier assessment criteria, enhancing training, and engaging with industry peers where appropriate to share good practice.

Monitoring, Accountability, and Annual Review

Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery sits with the management of Man with Van Redbridge. Management is accountable for ensuring that policies are implemented, that staff understand their responsibilities, and that any issues are addressed promptly.

This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every year or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, business operations, or identified risks. The annual review will consider the effectiveness of our current measures, any incidents reported, outcomes of supplier audits, and feedback from staff and other stakeholders.

Following each review, we will update this statement and our internal procedures as necessary. Our aim is to ensure that Man with Van Redbridge continues to play its part in combating modern slavery and supporting fair, safe, and respectful working conditions for all individuals connected to our business.
